ABOUT
Background
Based in Tampa, Florida, Alyssa is a Filipino-American singer-songwriter who prides herself on being 100% self-produced.
From the age of three, Alyssa always enjoyed singing and performing. She even began writing songs before turning ten, filling up notebooks with lyrics, and often daydreamed of being a famous singer and created imaginary girl groups with her friends.
Beginning in middle school, Alyssa started to experiment with producing, utilizing the recording tracks on her Yamaha keyboard, and debuted her very first self-produced original song at an 8th grade talent show that she ended up winning. She was gifted a microphone and music production program for her 16th birthday and from that moment on, she really started to dive into production and began posting covers and originals on SoundCloud.
Throughout her adolescence and into her college years, she was always involved in music programs and groups; she was a part of school vocal choirs and show choirs, a cappella groups, her church choir, and was a part of the Florida All-County and All-State Women's Choirs for three years. Her senior year of high school, she had the honor of being the first and only person in her high school to ever make it into the Florida All-State Reading Choir, which consists of the Top 100 vocalists in the entire state of Florida, a title she still holds today.
MUSIC & INFLUENCES
Over time, Alyssa has focused more on putting out original musical, releasing her first EP "Emotions EP" in 2017 and her debut album "nightshades" in 2019. Eventually migrating to streaming services in 2021, Alyssa began work on her biggest project yet, and released her second album "skin & bones" in 2022 alongside Creative Director, Ash Alonzo. Her latest project is an EP titled "TO THRIVE IS THE GREATEST REVENGE" that was released at the end of 2023.
Alyssa categorizes her music as a mix of alternative and pop, drawing inspiration from artists such as Halsey, Bishop Briggs, Imagine Dragons, Billie Eilish, Oh Wonder, and Melanie Martinez; however, she does enjoy experimenting with different genres and styles.
Alyssa is typically known for having performed at various student events at the University of South Florida and also at PhilFest in Tampa.
